SICUE is a national mobility program that allows a university student to carry out part of their studies at a Spanish university other than their own, with guarantees of academic recognition, use and adaptation to their curricular profile.

The SICUE Program is an exchange system, not a scholarship. It used to be supported by SENECA scholarships from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, but since the 2013-2014 academic year they have not been held by the Ministry.

The deadline for students to submit their application usually opens in February and closes in March.

Students submit their applications at their home university, following the application procedure that their university has established for this purpose. If it has not established any, the student may submit form A – Application for academic mobility, available at SICUE , at their corresponding mobility offices.

You must have passed a minimum of 45 credits at your home university and be enrolled in 30 credits, without negatively effecting the internal regulations of the home university regarding the minimum number of credits passed in order to be eligible for a scholarship of mobility, in which case said regulations will apply.

The requirement to pass credits must be met by the end of September.

The duration of the stay at the host university will be at least half a year and a maximum of a full year, and the following requirements must be met in each case:

In those cases, in which the student has fewer credits to complete their studies than the minimum required in each type of stay, they may choose to exchange said credits, even if they are less than the minimum required as long as the student enrols in all of them.

In these cases, the origin and destination universities will try to inform, coordinate and carry out the most appropriate follow-up, through the people responsible for mobility and support units for students with disabilities, for the better development of their exchanges.

Exceptionally, the periods described above may be extended for those students who are high-level and high-performance athletes. In such cases, the home university will ask the student to prove the status of a high-level, high-performance athlete and provide a reasoned justification for the submitted request. This exceptionality will be subject to the availability of places and acceptance by the host university.

As long as it does not contravene the internal regulations of the university of origin and the academic coordination of said university so authorizes, it may be included in the academic agreement, suspended, virtual, distance, etc.

In the event that the student wishes to include at most one subject in the SICUE exchange that is not in the degree that is the subject of the academic agreement, they may take it in related degrees with which there is no agreement, with prior authorization from all coordinators of the host university involved, limiting said possibility of enrolment to a maximum of one subject.

Electives may be taken from the study plan of the host university, not included in the study plan of the home university.

The selection of the candidates will be made by a Committee appointed by the Vice-Rector’s Office for Students. For the assessment, the average grade of the file with the qualifications will be taken into account.

In case of denial of the request, the interested party may claim before the same body that issued it, within 10 business days from the publication of the resolution, when any of the following circumstances concur:

Once the SICUE mobility place has been granted, the student will have to complete their academic agreement in SIGMA after having consulted the equivalences with the SICUE coordinator of the Center, who in our Faculty is the Vice Dean of Mobility and International Relations.

Once the agreement is approved, it will be signed by the SICUE coordinator and the Dean and the student will send it to the destination university.

A student can apply for SICUE mobility for the second time, as long as it is at a destination university other than the one where they carried out the first exchange.

On the other hand, the fact that you have already been a beneficiary of SICUE could affect the way of evaluating your application by the coordinators.
